Our Founding & Framework
The Napa County’s Law Enforcement Chaplaincy was established in 1996, with the encouragement and direction of then Chief of Police Dan Monez, for the expressed purpose of serving the employees of the Napa Police Department and the citizens of our community.
Within a short time, other agencies recognized the benefits of our work and thus we expanded to provide services to all law enforcement, fire service agencies and emergency medical first responders within Napa County.
We serve these agencies, their families, and the citizens of Napa, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, providing immediate crisis support to all who are impacted by tragedy and trauma. These services are provided at no cost to the City, the County or to the victims we serve.
Chaplains provide immediate confidential personal and family counseling, within the framework of non-denominational spiritual guidance to law enforcement officers, fire-fighters, and their families. Our team provides this personal service, not only to officers and firefighters, but also to department employees and their families.
Law Enforcement Chaplaincy of Napa County, Inc., is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization funded by private donations from individuals, businesses, and churches. A board of directors serves as the governing body to oversee policy and planning, and to monitor the fiscal integrity of the organization.
